superman.gif Tja das hätten sich wohl Jerry Siegel und Joe Shuster damals nicht gedacht, als sie in den 1930er Jahren Superman ins Leben riefen. Das Mineral, das einzige was Superman schaden kann und den Namen Kryptonit trägt, gibt es tatsächlich. Es ist zwar weder grün, noch strahlt es in irgendeiner Form, aber es hat exakt die chemische Zusammensetzung, die Kryptonit im Film Superman Returns zugesprochen wird.

„Towards the end of my research I searched the web using the mineral’s chemical formula – sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide – and was amazed to discover that same scientific name, written on a case of rock containing kryptonite stolen by Lex Luthor from a museum in the film Superman Returns.
